Travel Giant TripAdvisor.com Spotlights Atlanta Bed & Breakfast to Help Travelers Plan a Greener Trip
Stonehurst Place today announced its Gold Status award by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, in the new TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program designed to help its community of more than 200 million travelrs plan greener trips by highlighting U.S. accommodations engaging in environmentally-friendly practices. Developed in partnership with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the United Nations Environment Programme, Stonehurst Place was awarded the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders status based on its forward thinking green practices.
Stonehurst Place is Atlanta’s first eco-friendly bed and breakfast inn featuring deluxe rooms and suites with gourmet breakfast served to guests each morning. Lauded by both guests and Atlantans for its innovative and eco-friendly practices like rainwater harvesting for potable water use, greywater recycling and solar heated water, this luxurious inn juxtaposes green features with museum-quality art, exceptional accommodations and superior service.
“Stonehurst Place is truly a unique accommodation experience,” said interior designer and owner Barb Shadomy. “The combination of our unobtrusive environmentally-friendly systems and practices with this beautiful historic home and its contemporary interiors is unique in a sea of one-size-fits-all hotels and inns.”
Stonehurst Place is one of only six Atlanta accommodations awarded this prestigous designation.
“We are honored and proud to be part of the Stonehurst Place team, where stewardship of natural resources and protection of the environment is paramount,” says water conservation and green infrastructure expert Paul Morgan of Atlanta’s Hydro Logical Solutions. “Visitors at the inn will not only experience the benefits of a healthy and ecosensitive stay but also have the opportunity to learn why we all should be stewards and how they can do so with their homes.”
