When Atlanta waves goodbye to wintertime and hello to beautiful dogwood flowers, it’s time for the Atlanta Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park! People have been gathering here since 1936 to welcome spring with art shows, parades, carnivals, and more. While it has changed over the years, this iconic celebration remains true to its roots as a way to recognize the natural and cultural beauty of our area. Check out some of this year’s activities and experience it all with us!
The 88th annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival takes place from April 12-14, 2024. Here’s what to expect at one of our favorite Midtown Atlanta events!
- View Artwork
Over 200 artists gather each year to showcase their creations at the festival, and it’s a must-see for visitors. The main attraction is the Artist Market which ranked No. 23 on Sunshine Artist Magazine’s list of the Top 200 Best Art Shows in 2018. Creatives compete across a dozen categories including oil painting, photography, glasswork, and pottery.
Save time to recognize up-and-coming artists, too! The Atlanta Dogwood Festival hosts the High School Art Exhibition to offer young competitors a chance to win scholarships and art supplies.
- Celebrate Different Cultures
Metro Atlanta is a melting pot of various cultures, and the Piedmont Park Dogwood Festival is the perfect opportunity to celebrate that. Head over to the International Stage & Village at Lake Clara Meer to join the fun. You’ll get to enjoy music and dancing from several countries around the world!
- Treat Your Taste Buds
Bring your appetite this year! Backyard Bites & Brews awakens your inner foodie with samples from restaurants throughout Atlanta. They also offer plenty of craft beer and wine pairings to delight your palate!
- Listen to Live Music
In addition to the performances on the International Stage, feel free to check out concerts over at the Main Stage. Catch 11 different acts across a variety of genres over the three-day event. Information about the talented artists and performances can be found on the Music & Performers page.
- Join Fellows Runners in the Atlanta Dogwood Festival Mimosa 5K
The race traverses a scenic route through historic Midtown. After the race, runners aged 21+ can enjoy a mimosa for their hard work and then stick around for the rest of the festival. Register early to participate in this popular race.
