If you’re chasing that runner’s high, get your endorphins pumping at the Publix Atlanta Marathon. Experience this relatively new course in one of the Southeast’s largest cities. Run after your fastest time alongside athletes from around the world. This annual marathon allows you to take in the sights of the city, from stretches of streets lined with skyscrapers and green city parks to fascinating architecture and historical monuments.

Time and Place
The Publix Atlanta Marathon occurs in March and starts and ends at Centennial Olympic Park.
The Course
Running the course takes you past some of Atlanta’s most notable stadiums, monuments, and neighborhoods, such as:
- Georgia State University
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
- Edgewood Avenue
- Inman Park
- Little Five Points
- Virginia Highlands
- Piedmont Park
- Georgia Institute of Technology
- The Mercedes-Benz Stadium
- The 1996 Olympic Rings (one of three Olympic sites in Atlanta)
- Grant Park/Zoo Atlanta
- The Georgia State Capitol
- Oakland Cemetery (one of our Top 5 Historical Landmarks in Atlanta)
- And, of course, through Centennial Olympic Park
The Distance
You can run the full marathon (26.2 mi), the half marathon (13.1 mi), or a 5K. Age limits for each event are as follows:
- Marathon: ages 18 and older
- Half Marathon: ages 14 and older
- 5K: ages 8 and older
Register to Run
When to Register
Registration for the marathon ends in February, depending on the event you choose to enter. Be sure to register early so that you don’t miss out on the fun! All who enter receive complimentary swag such as T-shirts and medals. You can pick up your race number in advance, or pre-purchase will call pick-up the morning of the race.
