MORNINGSIDE NATURE PRESERVE
If you head about 10 minutes northeast from Stonehurst, past Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Botanical Garden, you’ll discover the Morningside Nature Preserve. This gorgeous area has over 30 acres of woods and 2 miles of hiking trails for you to enjoy. There are trailheads on Wellbourne Road and at the Georgia Power Substation on Lenox Road, while a suspension bridge connects the trails over the creek.
CASCADE SPRINGS NATURE PRESERVE
The Cascade Springs Nature Preserve is another extraordinary outdoor destination in Southwest Atlanta. Feel free to take a short, 20-minute drive from our inn to explore the trails that wind throughout this 135-acre preserve. You can discover the site of a Civil War battle as well as a majestic waterfall!
BLUE HERON NATURE PRESERVE
Last but not least is the Blue Heron Nature Preserve. You’ll absolutely love exploring this 30-acre nature preserve with its 3-mile Blueway Trail. It’s open year-round with free admission and plenty of wildlife to observe. Birdwatching is especially popular here!
