3 of the Most Scenic Drives Near Atlanta

South Fulton Scenic Byway

Fuel up your car and buckle in for one of the most scenic drives in the metropolitan area! The South Fulton Scenic Byway is a 29-mile loop that takes you over rolling hills, through peaceful farmland, and past forests that are full of wildlife. You’ll spend time on Highway 70, Cochran Mill Road, and Hutchesons Ferry Road. Best of all, this scenic loop is only 30 minutes southwest of Atlanta!

Russell-Brasstown Scenic Byway

If you’re up for a longer drive, enjoy the 41-mile loop known as the Russell-Brasstown Scenic Byway. It’s an hour and a half northeast of the city and takes three hours to travel along the entire loop. Don’t worry, though. A delicious, homemade breakfast at Stonehurst Place provides your body with the fuel you need for a fun-filled afternoon driving through the Chattahoochee National Forest!

Cohutta-Chattahoochee Scenic Byway

Last but not least is the Cohutta-Chattahoochee Scenic Byway that features 54 miles of scenery in northwest Georgia. It’s another destination that takes you about an hour and a half outside of the city, but it’s worth every minute. You’ll especially appreciate it when you see the natural beauty and mountain views that await you here. Check out the scenic overlook at Fort Mountain State Park while you’re in the area!
